East Texas Naturists (ETN) is a private organization and social club dedicated to maintaining a welcoming, respectful, and positive nude environment. This Code of Conduct outlines the behavioral standards required of all members and guests to protect the club's reputation and ensure a safe experience. Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, immediate termination of membership, or just not invited back.
Expected Behavior
- Must be Naked: This may seem obvious, but this is a nude social group. It may not be for everyone, but this is what we do. We’re all in this together. Once people start covering up, then it’s a vicious cycle. Use your discretion as when to cover up, but these are nude parties not clothing optional parties unless otherwise labeled.
- Be inclusive: Courteous, respectful, and welcoming behavior is mandatory for everyone.
- Zero tolerance policy: Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. DO NOT COMMENT ON ANYONE’S BODY - POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE
- Non-sexual: ETN is not a sex club or "lifestyle" group; related discussions and behaviors are inappropriate.
- Physical intimacy: Just don’t make others feel weird about your show of affection. Being affectionate is perfectly ok. Sexual activity is not permitted at club events.
- Designated smoking only: Smoking is restricted to designated areas and must align with the host's preferences.
Photography Rules
- Photography is strictly forbidden: There is no photography or videoing allowed. For the privacy and anonymity of the party goers, we do not permit photography or videoing. If someone would like to take a photo, they must have permission from the person being photoed with no one else in the background. Occasionally, we’ll take a group photo, but there is no pressure to be in it and everyone in the photo must consent. Unauthorized photography is a quick way to get kicked out. Don’t be that person.
- No outside sharing: Any photograph or video, even taken with consent must never be posted online or shared outside of the organization.
- Check for hidden risks: Backgrounds, facial recognition technology, and photo metadata can inadvertently expose member identities.
- Be conscious of how you hold your phone: when looking at your phone, please keep the camera pointed away form other nudists. Even though you may not be using your camera, it is a good courtesy to keep your camera pointed down or away so others don’t feel like they are being recorded. This is why nude beaches and nude resorts are diminishing. Don’t contribute to the problem.
Nudist Etiquette
- Utilize seating barriers: Always place a towel beneath you before sitting or lying down on any surface.
- Bring multiple towels: We recommend bringing two towels to every event—one designated for sitting and one for drying off, unless you like drying off with your butt towel - no judgement.
- Manage natural reactions: Men who experience an erection must discreetly cover themselves or excuse themselves until it subsides. If you're new to nudism, you may think this happens often, but this very, very rarely happens.
- No staring: We are all naked, please try not to stare or gawk at anyone. You wouldn’t do that to them with their clothes on.
- Again, no commenting on anyone’s body - positive or negative.
- Body Jewelry, Piercings & Tattoos are ok!: some groups and places have an issue with this, we are definitely body jewelry, piecing and tattoo positive.
Event Protocol
- Respect the venue: Treat the host's home, property, and personal boundaries with total care.
- Contribute to potlucks: Members are expected to bring a dish to share when events feature a shared meal.
- Pay host fees: if there’s a fee, please pay. The donation (typically $10 or less per person) is to offset the expenses for hosting the party.
- Prohibit glass items: No glass containers are permitted in or around aquatic areas.
- Respect personal areas: Stay out of closed rooms and unauthorized areas of the property.
- Leave pets home: Guest animals are prohibited unless explicit approval is granted by the host.
- Promote mingling: Avoid forming exclusive cliques; actively welcome and engage with new attendees.
- Clean up: take your stuff home and throw away your trash. That’s it.
Guest Guidelines
- Guests must be either -5yrs or +21yrs to attend a party. If you're under 5, you must be accompanied by an adult. If you act like you're 5, you must also be accompanied by an adult.
- Secure pre-approval: All guests must be cleared by the host prior to attending an event.
- Review the rules: Guests must read and agree to this Code of Conduct before their first visit.
- Arrive together: Members should arrive with or before their guests to facilitate introductions to the host and board.
- Path to membership: Guests may apply for full membership after attending two events and agreeing to the code.
- No continuous guests: Ongoing attendance as a guest without applying for membership is not permitted.
- Single Men: In an effort to protect privacy and facilitate the safest space to be nude, we do not issue invites or memberships to single men unless you apply with a female partner or friend. Regardless of marital or relationship status, individual party invites are not issued to single men. This means that you're not permitted an individual membership or allowed to show up to a party by yourself just because you're married. You must show up together. A top value for our events is gender equality. Our parties are 50% or more female and our invite and member policies reflect that. A male cannot participate with a female one time then show up the next time alone. After being integrated into the group over an extended period of time, short term exceptions can be made. It does make it somewhat exclusive, but those are the rules.
- Same Sex Couples: We do not discriminate on sexual preference. We encourage all couples, partnerships and friends to apply. Our parties; however, are 50% or more female and our invite and member policies reflect that. So, in an effort to protect that, it may mean that a same sex male couple could be put on a wait list if it would put the women in the group in the minority. Once there are enough women, then they would be permitted an invite. Gender equality is crucial to the longevity and growth of the group.
- Single Women: single women may apply for a party invite and membership. Several single women are active members and enjoy our parties. We recognize the cultural pressures that are put on women’s bodies and we aim to provide a safe, relaxed, judgement free space to detox from the outside world.
Alcohol & Safety
- Drink responsibly: Members and guests must monitor their alcohol intake; excessive intoxication and illegal drugs are prohibited.
- Safety interventions: Unsafe individuals may be cut off from alcohol, asked to leave, or required to arrange alternative transport.
- Host liability limits: Hosts are not responsible for transportation but may permit an overnight stay solely for safety reasons.
- Personal accountability: Each participant is fully responsible for their own actions and safe travel to and from venues.
- Emergency protocols: Members and hosts are authorized to call 911 for medical emergencies, with all costs covered by the patient.
Reporting Concerns
- Address issues directly: If you feel safe doing so, address inappropriate behavior discreetly with the individual at the time.
- Notify the host: If uncomfortable addressing it directly, inform the event host immediately for assistance.
- Escalate if necessary: Contact leadership via phone or email at info@easttexasnaturists.com if further action or evaluation is required.
- Report incidents promptly: Prompt reporting is critical to ensure accurate details are preserved and rumors are prevented.
Privacy Standards
- Maintain confidentiality: Sharing personal information about members or guests with non-members is strictly prohibited.
- Protect event details: Members or guests of members are not permitted to distribute event dates, times, or locations to non-members unless approved by host.
